Along with the Many Shades of White program, Dunn-Edwards offers help in matching fabrics and paint.
|
Dunn-Edwards' Many Shades of White program aims to expand the limited universe of standard stark white paint, giving builders and contractors more variety for exterior and interior applications to more accurately give their customers the look and feel they desire.
Finding that more than 70% of the paint sold by the company was white, Tina Ankeney, color design specialist for Dunn-Edwards, saw an opportunity to reintroduce customers to the possibilities of white. The company added 51 new whites to its palette and grouped them into warm, neutral and cool categories to further point out nuances.
Currently, the Many Shades of White palette offers 137 choices. A brochure and a color card aid clients in matching fabrics, contrasting colors with trim and seeing the effects lighting has on the tones.
"Color is very big, and whites are a lot more versatile than people think," Ankeney says. "Some people are still afraid of white, and this campaign helps flavor whites. Having the right white is what is important."
