The Hobby Barn is the ultimate space created for man and his projects. Designed to replicate an old barn, the structure is clad with reclaimed barnwood and can house 12 cars, motorcycles, and miscellaneous off-road vehicles. The workshop contains pneumatic air hoses and floating stainless-steel cabinets; the shower (made from a tin roof) is utilitarian enough to hose off a barnyard animal, yet sophisticated enough for its master’s bathing; and the loft could be used as a separate office or home gym. Perhaps the most stunning feature, however, is the building’s Cor-Ten steel standing-seam roof, complete with oversize skylights.
To complete the ultimate barn, the exterior is clad with reclaimed local barnwood.
The client wanted a barn feel with a twist, and the exposed beams, lighting, and interior design really help push that look.
The cathedral-like ceiling tops off this inspired project.
