Custom Builder Product Report: Hand & Power Tools
These nailers aren’t messing around. DeWalt’s 15- and 16-gauge nailers are designed to drive 1- to 2 1/2-inch nails into the hardest woods out there, even oak. Both models feature an internal piston catch that provides consistent power and driving each time. A tool-free jam clears away bent nails and an exhaust cap keeps particulates out of your eyes and lungs.
Show Those Cabinets Who’s Boss
Cabinet installers will appreciate the Cabinet Fastening System by Duo-Fast. The line features BTS, FTS, and TTB guides for each cabinet application. Optional accessories include the auto-fire cap to increase speed and a double-length fastener magazine. The 1.9-pound SureShot 5020 is compact enough for the tightest spots.
These Diamonds Cut More than Glass
Unlike other hole saws, the new Diamond from Lenox is specifically designed for cutting through tile, stone and glass. The diamond edge means you don’t need as much pressure as you cut. The edge also significantly extends the life of the blade edge and, because of its design, reduces airborne dust particles invariably kicked up during operation.
Metabo decided to make it easier on us and created a heavy-duty kit for its latest 18-volt products, including the new SBZ 18-volt Hammer Drill. The kit also has the company’s latest reciprocating saw, circular saw and flashlight. Each four-piece kit contains two 18-volt lithium-ion batteries and the company’s AC30 battery charging system.
